Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif stressed Tehran’s readiness to cooperate with other regional actors to establish a “united front” against Israel, the regime-aligned Tasnim News Agency reported on Wednesday.

“We are ready to cooperate with all friends that believe in the necessity of forming a united front against the Zionist enemy and against divisive attempts,” Zarif said.

According to the report, his comments were made during a meeting in Tunis with Rashid Al-Ghannushi, the leader of Tunisia’s Islamist Ennahda Party.

In related comments on Wednesday, Brigadier General Mohsen Kazzemeini, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps’ senior commander in the province of Tehran, said that Iran would continue to expand its military capabilities until it brought about the collapse of Israel.

“They [the United States and Israel] should know that the Islamic Revolution will continue enhancing its preparedness until it overthrows Israel and liberates Palestine,” Kazzemeini told military personnel gathered for an extensive drill in the Iranian capital on Wednesday.

“And we will continue defending not just our own country, but also all the oppressed people of the world, specially those countries that are standing on the forefront of confrontation with the Zionists,” continued Kazzemeini.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, met on Wednesday with Hassan Nasrallah, the Secretary General of Iran’s Lebanese terror proxy Hezbollah to discuss regional developments.

In the meeting, Amir-Abdollahian urged “vigilance” on the part of all regional countries in confronting the Jewish state. “All countries in the region should be vigilant in the face of conspiracies by the Zionist regime; and Muslim countries must take care not to be consumed by the flames of war, extremism and terrorism because of imprudence on the part of certain parties,” said Amir-Abdollahian.

Nasrallah, for his part, praised Tehran’s role in the region and accused Israel of being destructive.
