The Israeli government is evaluating a plan put forth by Qatar to build a pipeline that would supply natural gas from Israel to the Gaza Strip, Israeli new site Ynet News reported Sunday.
The proposed plan would allow Israel to supply natural gas directly to Gaza’s power plant, alleviating the current energy shortage in the area. The power plant is currently only able to produce eight hours worth of electricity daily.
