Teenage Girls Among Seriously Wounded in Car, Stabbing Attack Near Northern Kibbutz
by Ruthie Blum
Four Israelis were wounded Sunday evening in a terror attack near Kibbutz Gan Shmuel in northern Israel. From initial reports, it emerged that the terrorist first rammed his car into a passerby, then exited the vehicle and went on a stabbing rampage.
A 19-year-old girl in critical condition was evacuated to Rambam Hospital in Haifa, where she is in an induced coma and fighting for her life. A 15-year-old girl and 20-year-old man are in moderate condition — as well as a 45-year-old man with stab wounds to his hand (characterized by Israeli officials as “lightly” injured) — and are being treated at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in nearby Hadera.
The terrorist, apprehended by police, was identified as a 20-year-old Israeli-Arab from Um el-Fahm.
The site of the attack, along Route 65, is not far from a large shopping center.
