The NYPD arrested a man on Thursday morning who was spewing antisemitic slurs outside a Brooklyn synagogue, Yeshiva World News reported.
Members of Ahi Ezer Congregation heard the thus-far unidentified man, whom they described as “Middle Eastern,” banging on the synagogue’s locked doors while screaming antisemitic remarks on the steps of the congregation. A resident of the neighborhood told The Algemeiner that men praying inside the synagogue heard the man yell, “Kill the Jews!”
The NYPD and members of the Flatbush Shomrim Safety Patrol (FSSP) were called to the scene and arrived shortly thereafter. The man was arrested and transported to Coney Island Hospital.
A police source told Yeshiva World News that the man, who is approximately 20 years old, may be emotionally disturbed. The insider added that NYPD detectives are reviewing footage from security cameras to determine if the case should be turned over to the NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force.
