Hamas Delegates Arrive in Iran to Celebrate Anniversary of Islamic Revolution
by David Daoud
A high-ranking Hamas delegation visited Tehran on Thursday to participate in ceremonies marking the 37th anniversary of Iran’s Islamic Revolution, the Saudi-owned pan-Arab news oulet Al Arabiya reported.
The delegation, which will meet with senior Iranian government and military officials, included two members of Hamas’ politburo, the head of the organization’s international affairs and its representative in Tehran, Khaled Kaddoumi.
In an interview with Iran’s pro-regime news agency Tasnim, Kaddoumi stressed the importance of the Islamic Republic’s support for Hamas, calling the relationship between them “strong and spiritual.” He also lauded Tehran for leading the opposition to Israel, while Arab countries, like Egypt, had made peace with “the Zionist enemy.”
