A senior Hamas operative was killed in a Gaza tunnel collapse, Israel’s Channel 10 reported on Monday.
Abdel Al-Salam Al-Batniji, a 36-year-old field commander in the terrorist organization’s military wing, the the Izzadin al-Qassam Brigades, was found dead in what Hamas is calling a “work accident.”
This was the latest in a series of such collapses, in which Hamas members engaged in digging and other activities have been killed. While official reports have attributed them to rain storms that have made the earth damp, Hamas and other Palestinian groups are growing increasingly suspicious that Israel or Egypt has been behind them.
