Gal Lusky
Founder of Israeli Flying Aid
Gal Lusky also was among those honored in 2015 during Israeli Independence Day, when distinguished citizens who made global contributions light a torch at the national ceremony on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
As the founder and CEO of Israeli Flying Aid, Lusky has changed the face of emergency disaster relief, while demonstrating Israel’s role as a “light unto the nations.”
Her organization provides humanitarian assistance to disaster-stricken areas around the world, including Georgia, Haiti, Indonesia, Myanmar and Sudan.
Most recently, the group flew 120 tons of supplies to survivors and refugees in Syria as well as in unrecognized refugee camps in neighboring countries.
