Jonathan Sarna
Author and academic
Jonathan Sarna, a professor of American Jewish History at Brandeis University and director of its Hornstein Jewish Professional Leadership Program, certainly does not rest on his myriad laurels, which include writing or editing more than 20 books on American Jewish history and life.
In 2015, he co-authored “Lincoln and the Jews: A History,” which uncovers a previously unknown aspect of Abraham Lincoln’s life, one that broadened him, and, as a result, broadened America.
The book, written with collector and philanthropist Benjamin Shapell, sparked a noteworthy exhibit that toured nationally.
