Mark Yudof
Former president of University of California
The former president of the University of California has been an outspoken public opponent to the BDS movement, which has taken hold on college campuses across the United States and around the world.
In December 2015, Mark Yudof helped to launch the Academic Engagement Network, which aims to engage academics on 50 to 100 U.S. campuses, to counter the BDS movement. Yudof, also a constitutional law expert, serves as the chairman of the organization’s national board of advisers.
“My concern is that these people are going to lead America in 10 or 20 years, and what will they think about Israel?” Yudof has said, adding, “We have to do something to have a more intelligent conversation on campus and not have campus as a sort of ideological enclave.”
