Roseanne Barr
Comedienne
That famed comedienne and actress Roseanne Barr has become one of Israel’s staunchest defenders may still come as a surprise to some.
Barr, who grew up in a modern Orthodox home in Salt Lake City, has distanced herself from some of her earlier (and controversial) anti-Israel comments. She even recently announced at a StandWithUs event in California that she might be moving to the Jewish state. As an outspoken critic of the pro-Palestinian left and BDS, Barr now routinely takes to social media, where she holds no punches.
In March 2016, she performed at an anti-BDS conference in Israel. During her two-week visit to Israel, she traveled across the country “collecting material which will help her in her hasbara efforts in Hollywood for Israel and against BDS.”
