Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr revealed during a recent interview that she keeps in her purse a copy of The Zohar, the foundational text of Jewish mystical thought known as Kabbalah.
The former Victoria’s Secret model told Beauticate.com that the book of “healing and protection” is one of the essential items she always keeps in her handbag, along with a hairbrush, sunglasses, headphones and a bracelet made by her son, Flynn. During the interview, she read out loud an excerpt from the book that explains its ability to “keep darkness from coming near you.”
“It’s like a little protection,” she said.
In a 2014 interview with the UK’s Telegraph, Kerr dispelled rumors that she is a Buddhist. “I’m Christian,” she said. “I pray every day. I meditate every day and I do yoga. I’m not religious, I’m spiritual.”
