Last year the Miami Dolphins defeated the Oakland Raiders 34-14 as running back Reggie Bush rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown. This season, the match up will take place in week two but the original 4:15 p.m. EDT start time has been moved to 1:00 p.m. due to Rosh Hashanah.
“It was a decision by the league. We don’t control game times, it was a decision made by the NFL. Obviously we had some input, talking about dates and times that work and don’t work for us,” the Dolphin’s Senior VP of Media Relations, Harvey Greene, told the Algemeiner.
Greene said that due to Miami’s “diverse” and “multi-cultural” community, the Dolphins always try to work with the NFL to ensure their fans are accommodated.
“Every year we do make the league aware of our concerns about certain holidays,” he said.
The week two match up between the Dolphins and Raiders is the only game rescheduled by the NFL that weekend.
