avatar by News Editor

LA Times – Rebels advancing toward Libyan Leader Moammar Kadafi‘s hometown suffered a surprise counterattack from the ground and air Sunday, forcing them to retreat 27 miles to the desert outpost of Ras Lanuf.

A convoy of shot-up vehicles retreated from Bin Jawwad, the western front of the rebels’ advance in eastern Libya, and took refuge at an opposition staging point in the oil port city, which fell into opposition hands two days ago.
