by Algemeiner Staff
Following a sustained barrage of rocket fire emanating from the Gaza Strip, the Israel Air Force responded by targeting terror cells preparing to launch rockets at Israel. Two hits in southern Gaza and one in the north were identified. Israeli media reported that two terror operatives were killed.
More than 35 mortars and rockets were fired on southern Israeli towns throughout the day. Ashkelon resident and father of four Moshe Ami was killed, and at least four injured in the attacks. Additionally significant property damage was sustained.
“The IDF will not tolerate any attempt to harm Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers, and will continue to operate with strength and determination against anyone who uses terror against the State of Israel,” said an IDF communique.
Israel consistently stipulates that it holds the Hamas terror group in control of the Gaza strip responsible for all terrorist activity originating from the territory.
