WSJ – A victory by the Justice and Development Party in Morocco’s first parliamentary elections since Arab Spring-inspired constitutional changes looked set to make Morocco the second Arab country this year to bring a moderate Islamist party into power.
The party, known as the PJD, had won 80 seats in Morocco’s 395-seat parliament with two-thirds of the votes counted Saturday night. The ruling Independence Party garnered only 45 seats.
