Following a recent surge in rocket attacks on Israel origination from the Hamas controlled Gaza Strip, Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations, Ron Prosor, decided it was time for the UN to stand up and condemn the terrorist acts.
“How long will you continue to be silent? Ten days, ten rockets, and not one condemnation,” Proser wrote in a letter to the UN.
The rocket attacks, in addition to Palestinian rock throwing incidents, put Israeli lives in danger, prompting Proser to tell the UN Security Council that they must act to denounce the violence.
“Ambassador Prosor wrote to Security Council regarding the rockets from Gaza numerous times in the past and not a single word of condemnation was ever issued. Therefore he decided to write a different letter this time sending a clear message to the members of the Council,” Ambassador Proser’s office told The Algemeiner.
