Hundreds of Israelis participated in a “Zombie Walk” during the Jewish holiday of Purim yesterday in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Purim is a holiday that commemorates the deliverance of the Jewish people from a plot to exterminate them in the ancient Persian empire 2,500 years ago. The episode is chronicled in the Book of Esther.

The walk began on the corner of Ben-Zion Boulevard and King George street at 9PM with nearly 250 zombies taking part in the undead antics.

Zombie walks have become popular in a number of major cities across the globe, with the rise of zombie lore in pop culture.
