Dr Michael Salzhauer, a Miami based plastic surgeon is now under investigation by The American Society of Plastic Surgeons for a possible breach of ethics, after he funded a music video promoting surgery for a character who has a nose like “Jewcan Sam”.

In the video, which was made by “The Groggers”, a self described ‘Jewish pop-punk band with a comic twist’, a Jewish high school student named Doug has a crush on one of his classmates.  The girl tells Doug that she only dates boys with “cute, upturned noses” and that his nose looks like the nose of “Jewcan Sam”.

The name “Jewcan Sam” comes from the Kellogg’s Froot Loops mascot, Toucan Sam.

“I want her, but she don’t want what I am. She says you got a beak like Jewcan Sam. She says I only go with guys with perfect upturned noses, so cut yours down to size,” is how the song begins.

Dr. Salzhauer, who is Jewish, claims there’s nothing wrong with the song and has doubled down by offering free nose jobs to the winners of a competition designed to drive web traffic to his business.

“The song is meant to be funny, not offensive…The singer was able to express in a very tongue-in-cheek way that you shouldn’t base your self-esteem on someone else or go under the knife to get validation from someone else,” Dr. Salzhauer told ABC News.

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons called the video “offensive and inappropriate,” according to ABC News.
