The Celebrity Cafe – Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky’s next project has been set. Aronofsky will direct Noah, a biblical epic based on the story of Noah’s ark with Russell Crowe set to play Noah.

Deadline first confirmed that Crowe has been attached to the film, which will be co-produced by Paramount Pictures and New Regency, Tuesday. Aronofsky was reportedly interested in casting Christian Bale as Noah, but The Dark Knight Rises star has already committed to working on Lawless and King of Cups, both being directed by Terrence Malick.
