Following the Israel Defense Forces’ and authorities’ failures to halt the Palestinians destruction of ancient artifacts by dumping trash on an archeological site in Hebron, youth from across Israel have decided to take matters into their own hands and clean up the site themselves.

The youth have recognized the significance of the site to Jewish history and have decided that regardless of recent events in Hebron, they should do what they can to maintain the site and the artifacts found in it. Leaders of Hebron’s Jewish community have called on anyone who wishes to join them in this preservation project, to do so.

According to an inquiry undertaken by Tazpit, six Arab families living closet to the archeological site have chosen the location as their private dumping site.
