Axelrod: Obama Campaign to Spend $25 Million on Ads in May

Politico – I’ll have more on this in a bit, but David Axelrod told reporters on a conference call this morning that the Obama re-elect will spend $25 million on ads this month, dropping the equivalent of a nuclear bomb that a number of political watchers had been expecting to land in the defining pre-convention season.

It’s a breathtaking figure, but one that Axelrod framed as pushing back on the broad spectrum of anti-President Obama ads coming from Republican-leaning groups like American Crossroads, Americans for Prosperity and the American Energy Alliance.
