Syria Holds Parliamentary Elections, Opposition Calls for Boycott

BBC – In Syria, parliamentary elections have been taking place, a sign that reform is happening according to the Assad government.

But while the elections are the first for 40 years in which the ruling Baath party is not guaranteed a majority, opposition parties have dismissed them as a sham and have called for a boycott.
