Chris Hemsworth, who starred in Thor and The Avengers, will be starring in an upcoming Sony Pictures film heavily based off the 2010 assassination of a senior Hamas terrorist in Dubai – suspected of being carried out by Israel’s Mossad spy agency.

Now, Chris Rogers and Chris Cantwell have been selected to write the film, entitled Shadow Runners.  The two also wrote The Knoll, which made Hollywood’s “Black List” in 2011 – a compilation of scripts that have been written but have yet to reach the production stage.

Shadow Runners won’t depict Israeli agents in the film, instead, Hemsworth plays a former Navy SEAL leading a team of operatives on a mission against a dark enemy.  The screenplay is said to be heavily inspired by the 2010 assassination of Mahmoud al-Mabhouh.  The movie’s production schedule is still in question as Hemsworth’s obligations to the Thor and Avengers sequels remain an obstacle.
