Singer Madonna will host the opening show of her latest concert tour, “MDNA,” in Tel Aviv this Thursday. The show reportedly cost about $3.8 million to put together, and the stage at Ramat Gan Stadium will hold about 35,000 people. American television host Conan O’Brien is reportedly visiting Israel especially to cover the show.
Haaretz reports that about 600 staffers will make up the production team, with 350 of those coming to Israel with the singer from the U.S this week. Tickets to the MDNA concert around the world range from $45 to $600 for a VIP package.
The Huffington Post has estimated that the entire concert tour will earn at least $300 million. The tour will cover 32 countries, including the United Arab Emirates, the Ukraine and Colombia.
Meanwhile, a member of Madonna’s dance troupe has caused a stir by posting a picture of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and tweeting, “At the amazing Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. I don’t want to say it’s in Israel, but Palestine, strength and honor.”Madonna, so far, has not responded to the tweet.
