Egypt’s Top Court Affirms Ruling in Favor of Military

WSJ – Egypt’s constitutional court affirmed Monday that an earlier decision that led to the dismissal of Parliament was final, rejecting a challenge by the new president and moving the country another step closer to a constitutional crisis.

The court’s statement was the latest salvo in a duel between President Mohammed Morsi and the military leadership, which has relied on the courts to preserve legislative and executive powers despite a plan to hand authority to an elected government.
