Dershowitz: J Street Undercutting U.S. Iran policy
Alan Dershowitz said J Street is “totally undercutting American policy toward Iran.” According to the Harvard University law professor, the message of the group can no longer be viewed as pro-Israel because it opposes any U.S. military intervention in the Islamic Republic.
J Street’s website states that a military strike against Iran “would be ill advised… We therefore oppose legislation authorizing, encouraging, or in other ways laying the groundwork for the use of military force against Iran.”
“You can’t call yourself pro-Israeli and not want the American military option kept open,” Dershowitz told the Times of Israel.
The attorney said J Street is undercutting President Barack Obama. Dershowitz said he believes Obama “means it when he says the military option is on the table.”
J Street responded that Dershowitz is “attacking positions we have not taken.”
