20 Year Old Sets Record in the Pool, Caps Disappointing Olympic Thursday for Israelis

JPost – Swimmer Yakov Toumarkin provided Israeli sports with a moment of history in an otherwise disappointing day of setbacks at the London Olympics on Thursday.

The 20-year-old recorded the best ever result for an Israeli swimmer at the Olympics by ending the 200- meter backstroke final in seventh place in a time of 1:57.62 minutes.
