NY Times – The Syrian Army continued to pound Homs, Deir al-Zour and Damascus with artillery and airstrikes Friday, activists said, as United Nations officials warned that the refugee flows from Syria had rapidly surpassed previous estimates.
The Office of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees reported that more than 200,000 refugees had now registered in Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey, with 30,000 new arrivals tallied in the past week.
