Abdallah Al Omar, the former head of the state run Aleppo TV in Syria and a member of the Presidential Palace Press Office in Damascus, has fled the country, and according to Israel’s Channel 2 News, Omar claims that Syrian President Bashar Assad is making final preparations for his exit out of the country and into Russia.

Omar claims that over 300 apartments have been made available in Russia for Assad and his senior officials if they choose to flee Syria.

The Algemeiner could not independently verify Omar’s claims.

Following an explosion that killed Syria’s defense minister in July, reports began to circulate that Assad’s family was in the process of fleeing to Russia.   However, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said a report that Bashar Assad’s wife, Asma Assad, was already in Russia, was “a joke”.

Omar, who denounced the Syrian government three days ago, says he will reveal information from meetings between Assad and Iranian and Russian officials in Damascus.

Problem is in exile he will still hope to return to Syria and he will use what assets he has left in country and money to destabilize the country. So whether it is Iran, I am sure the wife would prefer Moscow the lifestyle, he will use it as a base to continue hostiles.

I remember in Iraq be cool once we hang Saddam the Sunni’s will give up the insurgency and join us. There will be a spike in violence leading up to his hanging but after that it will calm down. Same principle with Assad.

Either way the new regime will issue an international arrest warrant via INTERPOL, so you would have to speak to the FSA, but a deal could be arrange that naval base for Assad to be returned to face trial.
