Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman will unite two of the countries largest political parties, ‘Likud’ and ‘Israel our Home,’ to create a nationalist mega-faction The Algemeiner has learned.

“They will run as a joint list with Netanyahu first and Lieberman second. They expect to get close to 60 seats,” said a diplomatic source with knowledge of the matter.

“Right now in the Knesset they have 42 seats combined, they believe they will cross the threshold of 50 if they run together. It will be the biggest party in the Knesset and unite the forces of the national camp,” the source added.

Also reporting on the political development, Israel’s Channel 2 writes that the list will be named “Likud our Home” combining the respective names of the parties.

Not all is finalized however, “It still hasn’t been approved by the central committee of Likud,” said the source, and news of the merger has been met with denials from the parties.

Channel 2 anchor Oded Ben Ami said of the move, “Lieberman and Netanyahu have common positions that seek the good of the general public.”

“There was a troublesome relationship between Netanyahu and Lieberman in the past, but now their interests have united them,” our source concluded.

A press conference will take place at 8pm Israeli time, according to Israeli sources.

Sounds like the banking industry..when your bank has a name that is tainted merge and adopt the other guys name.
Perhaps they relized that the Likud party with Netanyahu as its image has run its course..and that Americans are fed up with folksy “BIBI”-his arrogance and bluster..treating America as a place to wipe his boots. America is not Israel..we are not a colony of Israel.
Most of us will fight to the death to defend Israel-but we are two nations –just as even a husband and wife -though joined each has a separate identity..different personalities, views, dreams and desires..Most often they are the same -sometimes they differ. They share goals and sometimes have different opinions about how to achieve these goals.

When the Republican candidates vied with each other as to which was the ‘most’ Christian so as to gain Party support..for obviously to the Republican base being more Christian means better qualified for office…or maybe to do business with? or associate with? or to have as a neighbor ? Where did that leave American Jews – Thrown under the Republican bus.
By Jewish Republicans not protesting this “Christian” argument they acceeded to the argument that this is a Christian nation.Perhaps they remained silent for fear of alienating the Evangelical “supporters” of Israel. If so,then fear was the driving force and we are ALL now back in the ghettos and Shtetls..living in the Pale…We cannot live motivated by fear.
