Billed as the “America’s Doctor and America’s Rabbi Israel tour,” Rabbi Shmuley Boteach’s non-profit, This World: The Jewish Values Network, on Wednesday announced plans to bring FOX TV’s Dr. Mehmet Oz to Israel for a week beginning July 25. The trip is being sponsored by casino magnate and Jewish mega-donor Sheldon Adelson.

“For a long time, I’ve wanted to bring Mehmet and Lisa [Mrs. Oz] to Israel given their amazing friendship with our community and the global impact Mehmet makes through every medium to preserve and protect human life,” said Rabbi Shmuley.

Dr. Oz, a Muslim who has expressed pride in his Turkish heritage, said he is “delighted” to travel to Israel and will be accompanied by his wife, their four children and son-in-law. “Being of Turkish and of the Muslim faith, I have always appreciated the deep ties and friendship between the Turkish people and the Israeli people,” Dr. Oz said.

“Being an American, I appreciate Israel’s friendship with the American people, and my own close friendship with the American Jewish community.”

For his first time in Israel, Dr. Oz will see the great sites: the Western Wall, the Dead Sea and Masada, the City of David, the Dome of the Rock and the Tomb of the Patriarchs in Hebron, as well as the tomb of Maimonides, the medieval Jewish doctor who served as personal physical to Sultan Saladin.

Dr. Oz has also been invited to meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday, July 29.

Dr. Oz and Rabbi Shmuley will also be joining together for one public appearance. There will be a panel discussion with Natan Sharasnky, head of the Jewish Agency and moderated by the Jerusalem Post’s Steve Linde. The event will take place on Sunday July 28, at the Jerusalem Press Club and will focus on the values needed for a Middle East renaissance.

The two-time Daytime Emmy Award-winning The Dr. Oz Show, hosted by the two-time Daytime Emmy Award-winning host, Dr. Mehmet Oz, is now in its fourth season.  The Dr. Oz Show is currently seen in 118 countries worldwide, and debuted domestically in 2009 with the biggest ratings in nine years in daytime television.

Outside of television, Dr. Oz is vice-chair of the Department of Surgery and Professor of Surgery at Columbia University.  He directs the Cardiovascular Institute and Complementary Medicine Program at New York Presbyterian Hospital and performs 100 heart operations annually.

Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, “the most famous rabbi in America” according The Washington Post, is founder of This World: The Jewish Values Network, which is now launching the American Institute of Jewish values to promote universal Jewish teachings in the American media.

Sheldon Adelson, the owner of the Las Vegas Sands hotel and casino empire, is one of the most considerable donors to Jewish causes today, known widely for his gifts to Taglit-Birthright, as well as for supporting Republican candidates in US elections.

This is a wonderful idea. Israel has world-class doctors, researchers, advanced and innovative medical treatments. Medical personnel worldwide flock to Israel to learn and then go home to their countries to implement.

Dr. Oz will certainly be impressed and will likely speak highly of Israel’s advancements. His voice will be a positive one – and the anti-Israel press will not be able to
censure him as they do with most other outlets.

Desert Cattle to the Rescue, Texas Longhorn
I like guns but for me they are just tools, a tool to protect the cattle and myself. But the cattle have something better, sharp horns. They can kill and it takes a lot less explaining afterwards then it does if I shot the SOB.

Israeli Ranches are being attacked, their land being stolen and their passive European cattle are being mutilated and killed by local Arabs and by natural predators, wolves and jackals. Israeli European beef cattle are incompatible with Israel’s desert environment. This has resulted in many problems including high calf losses, (as high as 30%). Israel needs desert cattle that fits its environment and can defend it’s self and it’s calves. That breed of cattle is Texas Longhorn. We are 501 c 3 non-profit. To start we need $256,000. Go to our website and donate: http://LonghornProject.org

Recently, I received reports of ranchers and their families being murdered.

We will be using 22nd century cattle handle methods called, Stockmanship and ecological grazing techniques called Strategic Grazing. Both will be taught to Israeli Ranchers.
