Poll: Spitzer Ahead, Weiner Tied
Politico – Former Rep. Anthony Weiner is still locked in a statistical tie in the race for New York mayor, while former Gov. Eliot Spitzer has shot ahead in the city comptroller race, a new poll has found.
The Quinnipiac University survey, released Monday, shows Weiner with a three percentage point lead (25-22) in the Democratic primary for mayor over his closest competitor, City Council Speaker Christine Quinn. Spitzer, on the other hand, is enjoying a staggering 15 percentage point lead against Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer in the city comptroller race, with 48 percent of registered Democrats said they’d vote for Spitzer and 33 percent saying they preferred Stringer.
