A 40-year old Arab man died on Monday after falling 90 feet from the site of the Temple Mount, after posing for a picture atop a wall outside the Al-Aqsa Mosque, Palestinian news agency Ma’an reported, citing witnesses.
Ma’an said Hassan Suliman Abu Madam, from the largely Bedouin city of Rahat, in the Negev, climbed the compound wall and asked a friend to take his picture, before falling to his death.
Abu Madam was visiting the site to commemorate Laylat al-Qadr, a Ramadan holiday that remembers the night the Koran was revealed to Mohammed, and attracted tens of thousands of worshipers to the area on Sunday.
The Temple Mount is currently closed to Jews.
