Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was discharged from Hadassah Hospital-Ein Kerem, in Jerusalem, on Sunday, after successfully undergoing surgery for an umbilical hernia, the Prime Minister’s Communications Office said, in a statement.

Upon leaving the hospital, Netanyahu thanked the medical team that treated him and the many citizens who wished him well. “Thank you all. I feel very good,” he said.

On Saturday, Netanyahu was admitted to the hospital for the emergency procedure, while Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon assumed his official responsibilities.
