Talmudic study has been around for the ages, so it makes sense that it has been integrated into the lives of Orthodox Jews in New York, even during their morning commute. But, the fact that the first car of the last wagon of the Long Island Rail Road into Manhattan has become a veritable synagogue, replete with rabbis and students who follow along as they study with books and, now, smartphones and tablets, is certainly a novel concept, one which the BBC decided to film for their “Living Online” series.
