Kerry Visits Middle East in Hopes of Reassuring Allies

Wall Street Journal – Secretary of State John Kerry expressed optimism about Egypt’s path toward a stable democracy, setting in motion a series of diplomatic efforts to repair frayed ties with U.S. allies in the Middle East.

In the highest-level American visit to Egypt since the Egyptian military removed President Mohammed Morsi, Mr. Kerry met Sunday with leaders in Cairo, where he reassured them Washington’s commitment to the nation.
