Israel’s Worst Storm in Decades Claims Four Lives
Times of Israel – After being cut off for two days during the worst storm to hit Israel in decades, Jerusalem on Saturday night was finally made accessible by public transportation and residents of the area, via Route 1.
Police chiefs said they would decide whether private vehicles owned by non-residents would be allowed access to the road on Sunday morning. Road 443 leading to and from Jerusalem was still sealed off, as emergency services worked to clear it of vehicles abandoned by drivers early in the storm, overnight Thursday-Friday. Several other major roads across the country remained closed Saturday night.
