Israeli President Shimon Peres visited the offices of Microsoft Israel, Ltd. on Wednesday and had the opportunity to view first hand some of the innovative projects the company is working on, Israel’s Channel 10 reported. Among the highlights of the visit, Peres sampled the new Xbox One video game console, which has garnered praise for its increased emphasis on entertainment integration. One offers the ability to overlay live television programming from an existing set-top box, split-screen multitasking of applications and improved second screen support.

Peres’ visit comes during an especially exciting period for the company. As reported by Israeli business daily Globes, Microsoft Israel is in the process of moving to a new, larger premises at the Matam High Tech Park in Haifa – signing a lease for 7,400 square meters on several floors, as well as 200 parking spaces, in a building that’s currently under construction.
