JNS.org British Prime Minister David Cameron will address the Israeli Knesset on March 12 as part of an upcoming trip to the region.

Cameron was originally scheduled to visit Israel in mid-February, but had to postpone due to massive flooding in the U.K. This will be Cameron’s first trip to Israel since being elected prime minister in 2010. Cameron joins French President Francois Hollande, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, and European Parliament President Martin Schulz as major world leaders who have addressed the Knesset in the past year.

“I welcome the arrival of the head of such an important country as the United Kingdom to address the Knesset and I believe the visit will contribute to the friendship between the U.K. and Israel and relations between our two countries,” Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein said in a statement.
