Knesset Committee Approves Raising Electoral Threshold, Limiting Government Ministers

Ynet – The Knesset Constitution, Law and Justice Committee approved on Monday the Governance Bill, seeking to raise the electoral threshold and limit the number of ministers and deputy ministers in the government.

Raising the electrocal threshold to 3.25% (about four seats) would be a blow to the two Arab factions in the Knesset. Balad currently holds only three seats in the Knesset, while Ra’am Ta’al stands right on the threshold with four seats.
