Star Jones Anticipates Baptism During Upcoming AIPAC Israel Trip
Television personality Star Jones will be baptized in the Jordan River during her upcoming trip to Israel with pro-Israel lobby AIPAC, she told her Twitter followers on Tuesday.
“I’m thrilled to be going to Israel with @AIPAC. My baptismal gown arrived today. I’m actually going to be baptized in the Jordan,” she tweeted. “Blessing!”
The Jordan River is recognized by many religious leaders as the authentic site of Jesus’ baptism, making it a popular pilgrimage site for Christians from around the world. Water from the Jordan is employed daily for the christening of tourists and locals.
Jones, who is Christian, did not say when she will journey to Israel. Nevertheless, her Twitter followers responded positively to the news. One requested that Jones upload photos from the ceremony, saying, “I’d love to share in your happiness.” Another wrote, “#GOSTAR #AWESOME.”
Over 6,000 delegates have already registered for the 2015 AIPAC Policy Conference, held in Washington, D.C. The event will take place from March 1-3.
