Actor Blair Underwood Makes IDF Soldiers Swoon During ‘Incredible’ Israel Trip (PHOTOS)
Actor Blair Underwood brought smiles to the faces of some female Israeli Defense Force soldiers during his recent visit to Israel.
In a photo he posted to Facebook on Tuesday he is seen posing with the troops at a military base in Tel Aviv. The girls, grinning widely, look smitten. Underwood appears to be enjoying their company, displaying a huge smile for the camera.
The picture is among dozens of shots Underwood posted this week from what he described as an “incredible trip” to Israel.
During his first day in Tel Aviv, Underwood posed with Deputy Mayor of Tel Aviv Mehereta Baruch and visited Capharnaum, the town where Jesus lived for three years once he started his ministry. In one photo caption detailing a night out on the town, Underwood described Israel’s local cuisine as “off the chain.”
Underwood stopped by many religious sites in Israel, explaining, “the primary reason I wanted to always come to Israel was to visit The Holy Land and see where Jesus and his disciples walked.” He was also shown groundbreaking Israeli medical research at the RAMBAM Health Care Campus in Haifa. Underwood said he was “blown away” by progress at the facility on kidney disease and its complications in African ancestry populations.
He also visited the construction site of an underground hospital for use in the event of a chemical weapons attack. The actor also toured the Jewish state’s ancient port city of Jaffa, Jerusalem, Nazareth and Tiberias, among other places.
Underwood, who is not Jewish, was a guest of America’s Voices in Israel, a group which takes Hollywood stars and other trendsetters to the Jewish state. The participants tour the country and meet political, cultural, business and scientific leaders, acquiring a firsthand understanding of the country. Other stars who have participated in the trips include Joel David Moore, C.S. Lee, Zoey Deutch, Lea Thompson and Vivian Bang.
