JNS.orgMaccabi Tel Aviv head coach David Blatt, after guiding the Israeli team to its sixth European basketball title on Sunday, is “very interested” in a head coaching job in the National Basketball Association (NBA), reports USA Today.

“No doubt in my mind I could do the job [in the NBA],” Blatt told the newspaper in an email.

The 54-year-old Blatt, who has coached Maccabi since 2010, coached Russia to a bronze medal in basketball at the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London. He acknowledged to USA Today that there are “a lot of great coaches in the States.”

“Obviously someone has to want you,” Blatt wrote.
