Former late night talk show host Jay Leno found the time to engage with a young Israeli boy over their common passion for exotic cars during the former’s visit to Israel this week, a video uploaded to YouTube shows.

In the footage, uploaded on Thursday, the child shows Leno his toy car collection as he sits beside the comedian at his hotel. The comic marvels at the kid’s collection and jokes that one of the cars may be good for traveling to school with.

The boy, who only spoke Hebrew, had his parents with him to serve as translators.

The Tonight Show icon, who famously has an extensive real car collection of his own, named the model of each automobile the child showed him. At the end of their chat, Leno told the youngster, “you have to promise to watch my show now.” The boy replied that he tries to keep up with it.

Leno was visiting the Jewish state last week as the host of the first Genesis Prize award ceremony on Thursday honoring former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. The award, which honors a person who has excelled in their professional field and embodies the character of the Jewish people, was presented by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The ceremony was held at the Jerusalem Theater.

The trip was Leno’s first visit to Israel. Before departing he told Fox News he considers himself to be “very pro-Jewish, very pro-Israeli.”
