Hamas officials said on Wednesday that they had detained 15 Palestinians they claimed were spying for Israel, Israel’s NRG News reported.

Additionally, Hamas boasted that they had cracked hardened telephone lines the accused agents used to communicate with their Israeli Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) handlers.

Hamas said they intended to smoke out more such agents, and called on Palestinians working with Israel to surrender, in return for easing their treatment and sentencing.

The Islamist terror group had previously declared that it would refrain from publishing the identity of those who gave themselves in, and thus, although they would be executed, their families would not be harmed nor identified.

So-called “revolutionary courts” have already held summary public executions of those deemed as having aided Israel during the 50 days of Operation Protective Edge, meant to thwart rocket fire into, and tunneling beneath Israeli territory adjoining the 64-kilometer-long coastal enclave.

Last week, at least 22 hooded Palestinian suspects were placed up against a wall and shot dead in public executions.

Monday night, tens of thousands of Palestinians flocked to the streets of Gaza City, including militants – some from Hamas – and fired into the air in celebration of an unconditional Egyptian-brokered cease-fire.

Mosque and minaret loudspeakers blared out “Allahu Akbar,” and broadcast songs of victory over Israel.
