A video montage published by the The Washington Free Beacon recently shows a number of media personalities, while discussing Israel’s recent Gaza war, insisting that they are not defending the Jewish state’s main adversary, the terror group Hamas.

The clip, published on YouTube, includes snippets from various news segments covering the conflict. Some of the featured reporters and pundits – from outlets including CNN, Fox News and MSNBC – even use the same line: “I’m not defending Hamas.”

Rabbi Michael Lerner is seen asserting, “I don’t support Hamas,” and former MSNBC host Cenk Uygur proclaims: “I don’t agree with Hamas’ strategy.”

CNN’s Jake Tapper says, “I’m not excusing the group, it’s obviously a group the U.S. considers to be a terrorist group,” while MSNBC liberal pundit Chris Hayes, during a debate about civilian casualties in Gaza, says, “I’m not defending Hamas!” That exact phrase was mirrored by Fox News liberal Bob Beckel on The Five, Iranian-American writer Reza Aslan on Real Time with Bill Maher and HuffPost Live host Marc Lamont Hill.
