JNS.orgThe Islamic State terror group has claimed responsibility for bombing the French Cultural Center in Gaza City on Tuesday in a declaration that has not yet been fully verified.

The announcement by the group on Wednesday morning called the bombing “the debut operation for the Islamic State group in the Gaza Strip,” reported Yedioth Achronoth.

As the bombing took place late at night, no one was present at the site or injured as a result. Hamas sources released reports that the center’s generator exploded, which caused a fire to nearby gas tanks.

“Our fighters successfully bombed the center for immorality and heresy known as the French Cultural Center after weeks of surveillance,” the group’s declaration stated. However the statement also included an incorrect date, placing some doubt on its authenticity.
