Jerusalem Post – Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas with incitement for allegedly writing a letter of support to the Israeli-Arab family of the man who attempted to assassinate right wing activist Yehuda Glick on Wednesday night.

“When we are trying to calm the situation, Abu Mazen sends condolences over the death of one who tried to perpetrate a reprehensible murder. The time has come for the international community to condemn him for such actions,” Netanyahu said.

Thank you Christians for Israel for you continued help. I am a product of the holocaust, a son of survivors who lost most of their family. Tomorrow is election day. If Israel is destroyed by a nuclear Iran we will have another holocaust.

. Where is our President Obama as our foreign policy has turned into a complete disaster.

Another holocaust is possible. If it happened once it can happen again. Thank G-d we have Israel. We need to do everything possible to keep Israel militarily strong. Jews get out of Europe. There can be no compromise regarding Israel nor can we depend on the good will of others. This unfortunately is a lesson that many Jews have never learned. Never forget, never forgive never again. I thought that responsible journalism had a golden rule:

    If in doubt, find out.
If you can’t find out, leave out.

How come both the Jerusalem Post and Algemeiner have broken this rule?

The doubt is whether such a letter – genuinely attributable to President Abbas exists

Did either newspaper actually check before publishing their articles under banner headlines that treated rumour as fact?

What disciplinary action is intended against the writer and the publishing editors if the rumours prove false?

Is it acceptable that the item was claimed to be fact before it had been professionally confirmed as such?

I wait for a news item recording that Tel Aviv has been raided by huge man eating jellyfish. Followed by a retraction that records that someone who had been reading “The Kraken Wakes” had been drinking too much, got stoned on pot and woke up in front of his word processor after the paranoid nightmare to top all paranoid nightmares.

One should condemn the elvation of assassination to the role of martyrdom. But first one should be certain of the facts. Credibility is at stake. Errors like this lead to subsequent lies used to cover up an avoidable mistake. And eventually there is only lies.

Israel should ban Abbas to Gaza-for incitement. He should
not be allowed to stay in Israel. He is not somebody that Israel could make peace with. He is another Arafat.
Hamas will take good care of him in Gaza.
