The four rabbis who were murdered in the brutal Palestinian terror attack on the Kehillat Bnei Torah synagogue in Jerusalem’s Har Nof neighborhood on Tuesday morning, November 18, all lived on the same street.

Rabbi Avraham Shmuel Goldberg, 68, Rabbi Mosheh Twersky, 59, Rabbi Calman Levine, 55, and Rabbi Aryeh Kopinsky, 43, were all residents of the Har Nof neighborhood and had made aliyah to Israel in recent years. Rabbi Goldberg was a U.K. citizen while the other three rabbis held U.S. citizenship.

“When we count the widows and orphans that were added to the Israeli nation this morning, four widows and 24 orphans are on one street,” said Rabbi Yitzchak Mordechai Rubin, the rabbi of the Kehillat Bnei Torah synagogue at the funeral for three of the victims on Tuesday evening.

“We are here, standing in front of these three holy men, the best of our community, Torah scholars whose blood flowed like water.”

Israeli PM Netanyahu Nixes High Court Request to Reconsider Freeze of Western Wall Egalitarian Prayer Deal

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected a request by the High Court of Justice to implement the Western Wall...

The four were among the some 25 worshipers praying the traditional morning Jewish prayers at the Kehillat Bnei Torah synagogue when two Palestinian terrorists stormed in armed with meat cleavers, an axe, and a gun, shooting and stabbing the congregants. The perpetrators were named as cousins Uday and Ghassan Abu-Jamal from the Jerusalem district of Jabel Mukaber who were members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). In addition to the four rabbis who were killed, eight others were also wounded in the attack.

The bloody attack was widely condemned by leaders and officials from across the world. “On behalf of the United States government and the American people, I condemn this terrorist attack in the strongest possible terms. Murdering worshipers at prayer in a synagogue is an act of pure, unadulterated evil,” related U.S. Ambassador, Dan Shapiro.

“Beyond the terrorists who were killed by police responding to the attack, any others involved must be held responsible and brought to justice,” added Shapiro.

Meanwhile in Gaza, Palestinians celebrated the slayings, throwing sweets and brandishing knives and axes in celebration of the terrorists.

Even Bahrain’s Foreign Minister, Khalid Bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa issued a statement condemning the attack in Jerusalem. “The murder of Jews praying in a synagogue is a crime,” he said. “The injustice of the occupation does not give a right to cause harm to innocent worshipers.”

Later on Tuesday evening, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the demolition of the East Jerusalem homes of the terrorists who carried out the attack.

Use common sense. Lock doors. Carry pistols and learn to shoot

Such a tragedy this is, the murder of these four holy men …it grieves me, and I send my condolences to their families, friends, neighbors, students and followers.

I do think it would be respectful and much more appropriate to also mention the tragic death and heroic act of the Druze Israeli policeman, Zidan Sayif, who was one of the two police officers who bravely came to the scene and killed the two attackers. Let us all send our condolences and thanks to his family and friends as well. May he rest in peace, and may his family and friends be protected.

Stop referring to the capital of Israel by its conquerors chosen name. The capital of Israel is Yerushalayim ir Hakodesh.
If it isn’t Palestine it isn’t Jerusalem!

No Muslims in Israel . Period .

  • aall55

Enough is enough , the Muslims need to get out of Israel.

“Jerusalem Mourns: Four Murdered Rabbis, Four Funerals, Four Widows, 24 Orphans”
    And one heroic Druze policeman.

These atrocities will continue until the Muslim barbarians are eliminated completely.

Netanyahu is wrong in wanting to retain the status quo on the Temple Mount and in trying to calm the Violent terrorist acts throughout Israel.

All the Arabs know and appreciate is force. They must learn the hard way that force will work against their interests. But certainly it must be force. Nothing else will work.
We now know that words are meaningless to them and useless to us.

Wake up Israel. Do what must be done, what is inevitable and what will end hostilities.
For when the Arabs are thoroughly and completely beaten and only then will peace be attainable. And it will have to be entirely on our terms.

May their memories be a blessing to all who loved and knew them. May the sweet shalom of Hashem comfort those widows and their children that survive this atrocity of uncalled for hate and violence. May Israel continue to grow and prosper and stand firm against the enemies of not just Israel, but against the One True G-d, The Great I Am,the G-d of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob! Baruch Hashem Adonai! Am Yisrael Chai!

Israel should withdraw hospital treatment to all members of Hamas and Fatah and their families for a year.
They should continue this for twelve months from the last attack until the terrorists get the message.

  • Norma Wilson

this is the most heinous despicable crime ever committed. May the wives and children get comfort, and may Gd take care of them.

demolition of homes is not enough.

quietly, and without fanfare, israel should start construction of 400 new jewish homes in jerusalem!
