Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon on Friday said that Israel would “be fine” should the security coordination with the Palestinian Authority be discontinued. “The security coordination is more important for the [Palestinian Authority] than for us,” Ya’alon told Israel’s Channel 2 news. “We’ll be fine without it. These are idle threats.”
Ya’alon’s statements on the matter follow the death of senior Palestinian official Ziad Abu Ein, who passed away Wednesday after clashes with Israeli troops.
